Company Stage
Hillcrest Venture Partners
invests exclusively in companies that are in the seed to growth (i.e.,
less than $15 Million in revenue) stage of development. We prefer to
invest in companies that have at least completed a working prototype
of their product.
Geography
While Hillcrest Venture
Partners will consider investing in a company irrespective of the company's
location, we prefer to invest in companies that are proximate to one
of our offices.
Disciplined Investing
We invest according to a thorough methodology that yields an objective
assessment of each company. Some of the factors we consider are:
- Problem Addressed.
The company's product or service must address a meaningful problem
faced by customers.
- Value Proposition.
The product or service must have clear and material advantages (e.g.,
cheaper, faster, more convenient) over existing solutions.
- Market Size. The
total addressable market for the product or solution must exceed $500
Million per year.
- Barriers to Entry.
There must be substantial barriers which prevent others from duplicating
the product or entering the market.
- Management Team.
The company's management team must have a track record of success
or have demonstrated potential for success.
Hillcrest Venture Partners
will make an initial investment between $25,000 to $100,000 in a
company and will make a maximum investment of $150,000 over the life
of a company.
